You probably already know how to lose weight.
Eat in a calorie deficit. Get enough protein. Train. Move more. Be consistent.
So why is actually doing it week after week so bloody hard? π
If you feel like you know what you should be doing but still aren't getting the results you want, the problem probably isn't that you need more information.
It's figuring out what keeps stopping you from applying it consistently.
Why am I not losing weight if I know what to do?
Knowing how weight loss works and actually being able to stick to the behaviours needed for weight loss are two very different things.
You can know everything there is to know about calories, protein and training, but if your approach falls apart every weekend, you constantly start over after one bad meal, or you don't have a plan for busy days, you're going to struggle to stay consistent.
And without consistency, it's very difficult to make progress.
That's why sometimes the answer isn't learning more.
It's understanding your own behaviour better.
The same problems come up again and again
After years of coaching women, I've noticed that most people who struggle with consistency tend to fall into a few common patterns.
You might be:
The All-or-Nothinger You're brilliant when everything goes to plan. But one meal goes off track and suddenly the whole day β or week β is a write-off.
The Under-Planner You have every intention of eating well, but there's no actual plan. Then it's 7pm, you're starving, there's nothing in the fridge and convenience wins.
The Weekend Undoer Monday to Friday? Nailed it. Then the weekend arrives and two days are enough to undo the calorie deficit you've created during the week.
The Training Wanderer You're always training, but you're constantly changing exercises, programmes or goals. You're doing plenty β you're just not following anything consistently enough to actually progress.
The Overthinker You've read everything. You've watched everything. You probably know more about fat loss than you ever needed to π But you're so focused on finding the perfect approach that consistently doing the basics gets lost.
You don't need to be more motivated
This is where people often go wrong.
They assume:
βI just need more motivation.β
So they wait for another Monday. Buy another programme. Set another goal. Promise themselves that this time they'll actually stick to it.
But if you haven't figured out why you keep falling off in the first place, you can end up repeating exactly the same cycle with a slightly different plan.
The goal isn't to be perfect.
It's to build an approach that still works when life isn't.
So, what's actually stopping your progress?
That's exactly why I created a free βWhat's Actually Stopping Your Progress?β quiz.
It takes around 2 minutes and helps you identify which of these patterns is most likely getting in your way β so instead of throwing more random fitness advice at yourself, you can start working on the thing that's actually holding you back.
Because you probably don't need to know more.
You need to know what keeps getting in the way of you doing what you already know.
Take the free EBP quiz and find out what's actually stopping your progress.
